apple tree communications was awarded three bronzes in the current edition of the prestigious international WINA awards with the campaigns developed for McDonald’s, Mars and Boehringer Ingelheim
The WINA (World Independent Advertising Awards) Festival is undoubtedly the perfect setting for independent agencies from all over the world to build relationships and promote networking. More than 257 agencies from 40 countries presented a total of 1,200 cases, for the most recent edition which was held in LA.
Within the prestigious category Better World, apple tree communications presented 3 cases and won 3 bronzes.
The first of the winning campaigns, in the subcategory of Social Responsibility, was the campaign created together with TBWA and OMD for the 20th anniversary of the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Spain. Among other activities, a short film was created, “Lions”, written and directed by Daniel Sánchez Arévalo. “Lions”, which deals with the experiences of children with cancer who require long-term treatments, aims to raise awareness and elicit an emotional response from its audience. It was the first bronze of the night.
“It’s not normal, not being able to” , a campaign for Boehringer Ingelheim, was apple tree communications’ second bronze which came in the Health category. The campaign is based on a real experiment starring the Spanish actor Imanol Arias. In it, Imanol experiences the day-to-day struggles of a COPD patient and tries to complete everyday tasks but with a mask that limited his breathing capacity and weights that reduced his agility.
Finally, the third bronze was in the Causes category for the “Smile Project” campaign, created for Orbit (Mars), where a solidarity song dedicated to the children of Aldeas Infantiles SOS was composed and performed. “Your smile” was written by Manu Guix and performed by David Bustamante, Adrián Lastra, Paco León, Kira Miró, Leonor Watling and the blogger Lovely Pepa.
That is why, with this hat-trick, apple tree communications strengthens its position as one of the leading agencies in its sector. For Olivia Walsh, Chief Creative Officer of apple tree communications, these awards “come at a very good time for the agency as they consolidate us in the international market as a reference agency“.
